 Latin American Music Originated in the 16th Century


when the Spanish and Portuguese conquered
Ameircans.
 African American music can be traced back to the
days of slavery. As the slaves are working, you could
hear them singing songs to help pass time.

 African music are used for religious ceremonies and


rituals, to teach and give guidance, to tell stories, to
mark the stages of life and death and to provide political
guidance or express discontent.
 African music can be described as, highly rhythmic
music. The complex rhythmic patterns often involving
one rhythm played against another to create a
polyrhythm.

 Latin American music can be described by the


percussion instruments used in making or performing
a song
 Latin music is used for getting together for social
gatherings such as weddings, birthdays, births,
baptisms, holidays and festivals

 Also known as electronic piano, Digital Piano is an


alternative to the acoustic counterpart with almost the
same construction and working method.

 Originating from Cuba, the Conga is a single-headed


drum commonly comes in a set of two. Each drum is
tuned to a specific pitch, giving it its rhythmic beat.

 A Pandeiro is a hand-held frame drum with a round


wooden frame instrument that resembles a tambourine
and comes with small cymbals around its side. The
Pandeiro is widely popular in Brazil.
