biography
Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist, minister and activist, one of the most prominent leaders in
the civil rights movements from 1955 until his death. He was born on 15 January 1929 in Atlanta, George in
the United States and was assassinated on 4 April 1968 in Memphis, Tennesse in the same country.
Achievements
He has won the Noble Peace Prize, Presidential Medal of Freedom, Spingarn Medal, Margaret Sanger Award
and helped establish the Southern Christian Leadership Movement.
A popular saying
One of his popular sayings are: ‘We must learn to live together as brothers or we will perish together as
fools.’
Why he is my favorite
He is my favorite because he fought for the rights of black people and it is an incredibly noble act.
