• These essays are about topics which are controversial, that many
people have different opinions on.

• You have to present your opinion and defend and support it.

• You have to persuade people into agreeing with you or convince them
that your opinion is valid.

• INTRODUCTION:
• You must give some background information on the subject
• It must hook the reader.
• You must present your opinion. It must be clear

• BODY:
• It must have different paragraphs: each idea or reason goes in a new
paragraph.
• You must give two or three good reasons.
• You must support your opinion with reasons and examples.

• CONCLUSION:
• Restate you opinion using different words.
• Summarize your main points.
• End with a strong statement.
