– Robert Half The indispensable and key function of this department is to hire talented, competent and right members who can play a vital role in accomplishment of the overall objectives of the society. It is mainly the job of the Talent Acquisition and Management Department to select the right type of people for the right positions and at the right time, sharpen their skills and abilities and motivate them to give their best to the roles assigned. So, this would commence with identifying and searching for talent, i.e., prospective members among the Freshers, who are currently full of energy and versatility and looking to explore various opportunities in the college, and inducing them to become a part of the prestigious Commerce Society. So, the process of recruitment and selection would include filling the google form first through which we get the database of interested candidates and their profile, then group discussion to judge their communication skills and viewpoints on various topics and issues and finally the interview which would help in knowing the candidate even more and seeing if he/she matches the requirements of the day to day work to be done in the society. The reputed Commerce Society has a far-sighted vision and works towards promotion of interest of students in the subject, sharpening their saw and organising various events for the holistic development of an individual’s persona. However, “a great vision without great people is irrelevant” and therefore, the society needs members who are diligent, self motivated and have the right skills, making them apt to the efficient and effective working of the society. Such members must be spotted at the earliest and groomed for future roles so that maximum benefit can be derived out of them. Further, finding right people is one thing and getting them to work together as a team is another story. Thus, talent management is very crucial to the success of an entity. Once, new talent has been acquired, it is extremely important to make them imbibe the work ethics. Talent management is concerned with creation of right conditions for all members of the society to give their best each day, committed to the goals and values of the society and motivated to contribute to its success, with an enhanced sense of their own well-being. Thus, talent management results in making the work environment conducive for workers leading to coordinated efforts and harmony among individual efforts and provision of excellent work environment and conditions wherein they can offer more of their capability and potential.
