IMPORTANT UNITS
LENGTH / HEIGHT
1 METRE (Mtr) = 3.33 FEET (Ft)
EXAMPLE 3 Mtr = 3 Mtr x 3.33 Ft = 9.99 Ft
WEIGHT
1000 GRAM (gm) = 1 KILOGRAM (Kg)
1000 KILOGRAM (Kg) = 1 TON (T)
1 KILOGRAM (Kg ) = 2.2 POUNDS (lbs)
EXAMPLE 3 T = 3 T x 1000 Kg = 3000 Kg
3000 Kg = 3000 Kg x 2.2 lbs = 6600 lbs
FORCE
1 NEWTON (N) = 0.10 KILOGRAM-FORCE (Kgf)
EXAMPLE 309 N = 309 N x 0.10 Kgf = 30.9 Kgf
WHAT IS A CHAIN PULLEY BLOCK
When we pull the hand chain, the hand chain rotates the hand wheel, which is
connected by a shaft thru a ratchet wheel to a system of gears.
These gears system turns the load wheel. On the load wheel, load chain is winded.
Whenever we pull on the Hand chain, it hoist the load chain on which hook is
attached. On the hook load is attached and gets lifted.
This means that very little force is required to lift large, heavy load.
