Fun Fact

Units of Data 4 bits = 1/2 a byte

Also called a
Nibble

 A bit (Binary digit)=is the smallest unit of data

 Bit rate = the number of bits transmitted per second
LAN, WAN, MAN
PAN (Personal area network)
or WPAN

 A personal area network (PAN) is the interconnection of information technology devices within the range of
an individual person, typically within a range of 10 meters.

 device such as a laptop and internet connection. Or using your Bluetooth to hook to wifi or Smart TV
Local area network (lAN)

 two or mare computers and/or devices are connected

within the small area, as is a room, office building or
a campus. The number of computers in a LAN varies
from 2 to 1000 computers. The data transmission
speed is slow as compare to WAN.
Wide area network (WAN)

 This kind of networks can connect two or more

computers present at distant places. In WAN computer
terminals are not connected with wires. They are
linked by the communication services like satellite
signals, telecommunications. The usage of WAN
network system is limited to very large organizations
and government agencies. The main example of WAN
network system in our daily life is telecom system.
Metropolitan area network (MAN)

 MAN network system

is larger than LAN
network system. This
system is spread
across a city. The main
and common example
of MAN is in our daily
life is Cable
Television.

I find pictures of different things and then sort
them into different boards (hair styles, DIY

Create an idea for each of the 5 CMS actions Map should include:
 Curating (selecting) & (managing) &
(organizing) digital content • Picture/symbol
 Editing (changing) digital content
• Website or application you
 Contributing (adding to somebody else’s
work) digital content will use

took it) digital content
• Use (how or why) & Safety

How is a CMS different from a LMS?

 CMS is a more passive application, it’s mostly used to view documents. Whereas LMS is an application
where learners are motivated to be interactive with the system. Learners are able to try, for example a quiz.
Creators are able to create a quiz and track progress of learners.

Personal Learning Environment

 Learners have certain goals, needs, interests, motivations and problems that are often presented to the people
they include in their PLE.

  Moreover, the learner will collaborate and connect differently with various members.
So…

How do we know where to find digital content?

how do we learn how to create digital content?

How can we manage and maintain content

we‘ve created?
