• Born Date = 21 / May /1902
• He was a Hungarian-born modernist architect and furniture
designer.
• At the Bauhaus he designed the Wassily Chair and the Cesca Chair,
which The New York Times have called some of the most important
chairs of the 20th century.
• He is regarded as one of the great innovators of modern furniture
design and one of the most-influential exponents of the
International Style.
• He design Wassily chair, Casce chair

• Wassily chair means model B3 chair.
• He designed by marcel Breuer in 1925–1926 in Germany.
• This chair design with the help of bicycle construction and
fabricated using the techniques of local plumbers.
• In this chairs use a fabric , springs materials.
• It was first available in both a folding and a non-folding version
• In this chair use cycle rod because cycle rod his very light in
weigh t. They imagine it could be bent into forms for furniture.
• The canvas seat, back, and arms seem to float in space, the
body of the sitter does not touch the steel framework.
• This chair is design to use in club chair.

Shortly after finishing his design for the "Wassily" chair, Breuer.
onto which he attached two beechwood frames covered in caning.
The form of the frame - where the seat and back are supported only
by the legs at the front - comprises the first cantilevered chair
design in history. With ease, Breuer's design thus marries the
traditional methods of craftsmanship - the woven caning hand-
sewn into the wood frame - with the industrially mass-produced
tubular steel.
