INTRODUCTION
• RECENT ADVANCEMENTS IN THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV)
BATTERY TECHNOLOGIES AND THE PROMOTION OF EVS
THROUGH GOVERNMENT POLICIES HAS SEEN A DRASTIC RISE
IN THE NUMBER OF EVS ON THE ROAD.
• ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EVS) ARE A PROMISING TECHNOLOGY FOR
ACHIEVING A SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT SECTOR IN THE
FUTURE. THIS IS BECAUSE OF THEIR VERY LOW CARBON
EMISSIONS, HIGH EFFICIENCY AND FLEXIBILITY IN GRID
OPERATION AND INTEGRATION.
Problem statement understanding

• IF SEVERAL EVS SIMULTANEOUSLY DRAW POWER FROM


A CHARGING STATION, THIS WILL RESULT IN A VOLTAGE
DROP FOR THAT PARTICULAR PHASE OF THE
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM.
• THIS LEADS TO A CHANGE IN THE LOAD PROFILE OF
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS BY ALTERING THE PEAK
DEMAND INTERVALS FROM WHAT IS BEING FORECAST
WITHOUT THE CONSIDERATION OF EVS.
• THIS NECESSITATES A QUANTITATIVE APPROACH FOR
DETERMINING THE LOAD PROFILE IN A SCENARIO
WHERE THE NUMBER OF EVS ARE HIGH.
Proposed Methodology

• In order to avoid any undue presidencies , it is essential to


continuously monitor the distribution system.
• This is possible by closely monitoring the voltage stability indices
of the different buses in the distribution system.
• In the proposed dissertation conventional Forward-Backward
method of load flow analysis will be used for evaluating the bus
states (voltage, delta).
• Additionally MATLAB based programming will be done to
determine the VSI of the different buses in a distribution system.
• This will give an indication regarding the weakest bus of the
system
PROJECT PROGRESS

We are now on the research part of the project in which we are referring to
different papers and journals published by different authors and trying to seek
out a efficient way of programing which will also be user friendly
