INTRODUCTION TO
MONSOON
• A monsoon is a seasonal change in the direction of the
prevailing, or strongest, winds of a region. Monsoons cause
wet and dry seasons throughout much of the tropics.
Monsoons are most often associated with the Indian Ocean.
WHAT IS
MOONSOON?

THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF
MONSOON:
• South- west
• North -west
South-west monsoon.
•It's origin to the great difference of
temperature which exists during the
summer months between the heated land
surface of India and the surrounding oceans.
NORTH- EAST
MONSOON
•North- east monsoon is the blow of the wind
from land towards the sea .
•This occurs during the time period of winter
•Due to the high pressure which is known as
•''Tropic of cancer''.
