EXTERIOR
Frank Gehry had designed the building based on the idea
of a treehouse-like structure. Made with 320,000 custom-
designed bricks, analysts described the building’s façade
from the exterior as a “squashed brown paper bag”.

A.K.A. CHAU CHAK WING BUILDING

INTRO

The University of Technology, Sydney was the 85-year-old Canadian


American Architect, Frank Owen Gehry’s first-ever building designed in
Sydney, Australia. The structure is named after a Chinese businessman who
sponsored $20 million for its construction in 2011.

My design intent is to produce a visual representation of Emphasis using


DESIGN INTENT STATEMENT volumized flat planes and intersecting cross-like shapes so that the
element can be expressed from any elevation.
