The selected building is a
residential apartment with
complex on the ground floor
having roads on adjacent sides of
the building. Construction of a
building is done in RCC . It is a
four story building consist of
three flats on each floor with stilt
parking on ground floor along
with Security room . Building has
one staircase and no lift is
provided.
SURVEY
Defect Cause
Water sepeage In several sections in ceiling due to improper
waterproofing exposed cracks seen which lead
to large amount of water leakage and almost
created patches inadequate maintain while
constuction.
Flushed beam Improper finishing of beams and columns. The
breakage surface of flush beam is in close contact with
staircase level.

Staircase Gap is been formed between tile and trade


surface hence tiles are breaking ang getting
seperated.
Arising Water is absorbed from the ground into the wall
dampness because of capillary action
Paint has peeled Exposure to the external conditions such as
away sun rain moisture.
Supplante Corners of columns and beams has

SURVEY
CONCLUSION

• The large problem has came to appearance are no maintenance at all , unfinished work , not a
single repairing has been done till date.

• The building is still in condition that it can be retained by taking some serious action for
the same.

• The main matters arising out of our survey are –

1. Need of a proper painting and water proofing through out the building .
2. Replacement of tiles is needed for staircase.
3. High attention is needed for plumbing and sewage system.
4. Repairing of wall cracks.
5. Maintenance of sanitary fixtures and electrical accessory.
