WHAT IS THE SIMPLE PAST?

• This is one time more important in english, and it is formed with the letter ED with the
regular verbs, when we talk of irregular verbs there is not a ruler to learns them.
For example:
Regular verbs Irregular verbs
Live – lived Eat – ate
Like - liked Find – found
Smile – smiled Drink – drunk
Open – opened Speak – spoke
WHEN WE USE SIMPLE PAST?

• We use simple past in sentences that the idea finish, for example:
• 1) A year ago, i ate in that restaurant.
• 2) When you were a child, you liked candies.
• 3) I finished my high school in 1994.
• 4) My brother wachetd tv last nigth.
• 5) I played soccer with my friends on friday.

HOW DO YOU USE THE PAST CONTINUOS?

• It is use to offer a contest or give information about a specifict time for example:
• 1) I was studing english for five years.
• 2) My son was singing all nigth.
• I was watching tv yesterday.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIMPLE
PAST VS PAST CONTINUOS?
• The simple past is to indicate an action that began and finished in the past, and the past
continuos is to indicate and the actions were carry out in the past.
