INTRODUCTION
Tourism communication reinscribies ethnocultural
stereotypes, and this action is often motivated by a
quest for cultural authenticity in the other. The other
commodifies its cultural stereotypes with various
discursive and semiotic tools and is often motivated
by the exchange value of its cultural identity.
WHAT IS TOUR GUIDING?

Guides are tourism professionals that lead their


guests through the most interesting parts of their
region. It is their task to entertain visitors to their
region and to help them to interpret the sights
that they are visiting.
PURPOSE OF TOUR GUIDING
• Tour guides ensure that itineraries are met and that
customers are being informed in an entertaining manner
the location they are touring.
• They are also responsible for ensuring the safety of the
group and ensuring that tour groups remain together.
• Tour guides are employed by tour companies, resorts
and attractions.
CONCEPT OF TOUR GUIDING
