JUDAISM

Hebrews refers to those who accepted Yahweh as their


God.

Israelites refers to the descendants of the Hebrew which


originated from Abraham.

paschal meal shared by family on the eve of the first day
of the feast.
Matzah(bread) is the primary food ingested during the
Passover

 Marranos or Conversos is the first Jews in the Philippines
were converts to Christianity.
 Jorge and Domingo Rodriguez who arrive 1950’s.
 The rise of Adolf Hitler in 1933 as a German chancellor and
head of Nazi Party began a prolonged wave of Anti- Jewish
activity.

from central Europe, the Felashas who are in
Ethiopia(Molloy 2005, 327-328)

Orthodox Judaism tries to observe the traditional practices
and beliefs of Biblical Judaism. They are strict in the
implementation of such laws and practices.
Reform Judaism aims to modernize Judaism a religion
without dogmas and subject to the criteria of reason
Conservative Judaism recognize that change has always
been part of religion
IN THE PHILIPPINES
Beit Yaacov Synagogue is the only
synagogue in the Philippines
They have a rabbi, who is Shochet.
10 COMMANDMENTS
 And God spoke all these words:
 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the
land of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me.  1“You shall
not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven
above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I,
the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for

days you shall labor and do all your work,  but the seventh
day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not
do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor
your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any
foreigner residing in your towns.  For in six days
the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all
that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore
the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
