Research Objectives
• To examine the present App –based Ride sharing system.
• To Identify the people’s reason for choosing Ride services.
• To explore the challenges of ride-sharing services and provide suggestions.
Literature review
• Ridesharing services have gained popularity in Dhaka due to their convenience and cost-
effectiveness compared to traditional taxi services (Hossain & Islam, 2018)
• However, there have been concerns about regulation, safety, traffic congestion, and pollution in the
growing ridesharing industry in Dhaka (Gu, 2018; Hossain & Islam, 2018)
• In response, the government of Dhaka has implemented new regulations for ridesharing companies,
including requirements for background checks for drivers and vehicle inspections (Gu, 2018)
• The future of ridesharing in Dhaka is likely to involve continued growth, but also the need to
address ongoing challenges and invest in infrastructure (Hossain & Islam, 2018)
• Further research is needed to better understand the impacts and implications of ridesharing
services in Dhaka, and inform policy and decision-making (Gu, 2018)
• A proposed study on the contemporary state and prospects of ridesharing services in Dhaka can
contribute to this growing body of knowledge and help shape the future of transportation in the
city (Hossain & Islam, 2018)
Theoretical framework
METHODOLOGY
Study area
• The study area is the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh Where Ride
Sharing services are available
Participant
• Ridesharing service users From different Age group
• Ridesharing service providers
• Urban planning and transportation experts
Methodological framework
Step 1: Determine research design (mixed-methods using both quantitative and qualitative data collection
methods)
Step 2: Select data collection methods (online surveys, in-person interviews, focus groups)
Step 3: Determine sampling method (convenience sampling of app-based ride sharing users in a specific
geographic location)
Step 5: Analyze data using descriptive statistics for quantitative data and content analysis for qualitative data

size is unknown, the population proportion is unknown.
𝑧 = 𝑧 value at reliability level or significance level.
𝑛 = 𝑧2 / 4𝑒2
Reliability level 95% or significance level 0.05; 𝑧 = 1.96
𝑛 = (1.96)2/ 4 x (0.05)2 = 384
The sample size for the research is 200.
