 • Our mission is to safeguard the futures of
young people in foster care by minimizing
FOSTER THE arrests. To accomplish this goal, we will: provide
FUTURE training in trauma informed care for foster
parents and staff in group care settings  and
MISSION provide services for individuals in foster care

to help them securely transition out of foster
care.

WHAT IS THE FOSTER CARE TO

PRISON PIPELINE?

Our program seeks to help children

and youths who are especially
vulnerable to interactions with the
legal system. 
 How does lack of training of staff in group homes lead to
arrests?
• Many states don't require special training for dealing with
emotional outbursts from kids with severe traumas and other
mental health issues. Texas has almost zero requirements for
foster carers.
TRAINING • Foster carers often panic  at child outbursts and immediately
PROGRAMS resort to calling the authorities, which has severely detrimental
effects for the persons' future
• They are often paid extremely low wages and have a lack of
incentive to improve their care
Donors to our program would provide trauma informed care
training to foster parents and group home staff
 Advocacy- Network of teams that provide
advocacy  and representation for those in the foster
care system 

Volunteer Mentorship Program- Volunteer

mentorship program. Providing the child with a
OTHER positive role model  can make a world of
difference  in their lives and feelings of normalcy.
SERVICES We provide specialized training to each potential
mentor.

Foster Care Transition Grants- Provides grants

to youths ageing out of the system, supporting their
transition from the program.
