SOLAR PANEL

CLEANING ROBOT

Presented by:
Trevor Nampala R158972A
Supervisor- Mr HM Katongera
INTRODUCTION

 Accumulation of dust on the surface of

a solar panel decreases the radiation
reaching the solar cell
 Thisresults in losses in the generated
voltage and power
 Thisproject aims at improving the
radiation reaching the solar cells
thereby improving efficiency
PROBLEM STATEMENT

As sunlight gets converted into

electricity there are different losses
lowering the systems output power.
Due to this lowering of output
power, solar power generation
companies are facing economic
losses due to the low power
generation efficiencies.
OBJECTIVES

System that improves efficiency in

solar power generation
An unmanned operation of cleaning
the panels
System that does not damage the
panels during its operation
Wet system for cleaning the panels
BENEFITS

 Provide profits for the solar

generation companies
 It is a cost cutting measure
 Improvessafety amongst the
employees
 Protection of solar panels from
damage
METHODOLOGY

 During the course of the project, I will:

 Consult the supervisor

 Consult other lecturers in the department and
other departments
 Visit the library for data collection from
textbooks and journals
 Visit the laboratories for the prototype
implementation
