Passive voice

Example

Passive voice is often used when the focus is on the action and not on who or what is
performing the action. It's especially common in formal or professional contexts. The
structure is:

Object + auxiliary verb (be) + past participle + (by + subject)

For example, "The meeting was attended by all team members."


Exercises

Change the following sentences from active to passive voice:

a. "The team completed the project on time." The project was completed on time

b. "Management will review the budget next week." The budget will be reviewed next
week
