INTRODUCTION
The Clash were a British
punk rock band. Active
from 1976 to 1986, they
were one of the most
critically acclaimed bands
of the period. They were
mainly formed by Joe
Strummer, Mick Jones,
Paul Simonon and Nick
"Topper" Headon.
pioneers of punk
The pioneering groups of the mythical
fantastic genre of punk were the sex
pistols and the clashes which changed
both the style and the attitude of
Euroamerica.
they also changed the classical canons
of music of that period, establishing a
balance between melody and noise.
Punk has had ups and downs, but from
its birth onwards it has never
completely disappeared, among
evolutions that have been able to
inspire even those who have taken the
genre beyond its borders, borders also
established by the Clash.

already the first single, "the white

and social differences.
confirmed their tendency towards
political and social commitment with
the release of their third album, whose
name, "London Calling" already made it
clear that the topics covered were
becoming increasingly "stronger". In
fact, this very name derived from a
quotation of a radio speaker who
during the Second World War uttered
the following sentences: "London
calling: war is declared and battle
come down"
PUNK
ROCK
Punk rock is a music genre that
emerged in the mid-1970s. Rooted in
1960s garage rock, punk bands
rejected the perceived excesses of
mainstream 1970s rock music. They
typically produced short, fast-paced
songs with hard-edged melodies and
singing styles, stripped-down
instrumentation, and often shouted
political, anti-establishment lyrics.
Punk embraces a DIY ethic; many
bands self-produce recordings and
distribute them through
independent record labels.
