Mindfulness Workshop Themes
 Sitting quietly and inviting mindfulness by focusing and
concentrating energies on a single task (meditation and yoga).
 Individual breathing excercises and self awareness of body and
mind.
 Exploring group excercises for mindfulness.
 Mindfulness through the day, in classrooms, in stressful contexts.
 Mindfulness and emotional well being.
 Mindfulness and decision making.
 Mindfulness in cognitive learning.
WHAT IS
MINDFULNESS ???
Mindfulness means living in the present
moment . Essentially it means Being
(intentionally) more aware and awake To
each moment and being fully engaged In
what is happening in one’s Surroundings –
with acceptance and without judgement.
Three Key Characteristics of
Mindfulness....
Intention to cultivate avareness (And return to it again and
again).
Attention to what is accuring in the current momenT (simply
observing thoughts, feelings, sensations as they arise).
Attitude that is non-judgemental, curious and kind.
Need and Importance of
Mindfulness...
 Mindfulness increases your ability to make Controlled, thoughtful,
conscious decisions. Core mindfulness skills teach you to Slow
down your mind, Pay attention to all thoughts, feelings And urges.
 It can reduce emotional suffering and increase overall satisfaction.
 Mindfulness teaches you to balance your decisions so they are not
overly logical or Emotional.
 It improves your effectiveness and your productivity.
 Mindfulness can improve your self-conpassion and your compassion
for others , leading to better interpersonal relationships
 Just ten mindful minutes each day can reduce emotional
vulnerability and reduce your stress.
About The Workshop...

 On 9th of November, in the morning, a very interesting


extension workshop was organised with regard to
'Mindfulness in Classroom’. Ms. Prachi Tanwar
instructed all the students. The workshop comprised of
a variety of excercises as well as yogic postures such as
Virbhadra-2, Janu shirshasana, vashisht yoga, ardha
matsyendra, Trikonasana, Vrksasana and many more.
We followed along with Ms. Prachi.

REFLECTIVE NOTE ...
 The overall experience can be concisely called 'refreshing’
and 'calming’ and According to me, that was exactly the
purpose it was meant to serve. The yogic postures and
exercises were really elaborate and some students even
struggled to do them perfectly but this workshop was
carried out in an azure garden with verdant trees and
resplendent firmament which significantly added up to the
beauty and harmony of the experience as a whole. Also,
the Calming effect lasted throughout the day.
