1. Make a photo essay about the physical development of preschoolers.

Observe preschoolers in action

and take their pictures. Describe the gross and fine motor skills that you saw them do.

It is so much fun to watch the children play and do some activities. Based from my observation from my
nieces and nephews and other children at the preschooler years they all wanted to play and move a lot
or when in stay in place doing some handwork. At this stage the development of the children physical,
mental abilities are starting to show that is why it is very important that parents or adults should
properly guide and be responsible facilitating the children to nurture their abilities in the form of
activities to cultivate more of their skills, talents and thinking as well and to provide a stimulating
environment conducive to perform such activities suitable for children in preschool. Upon observing the
preschoolers, they love to jump, kick a ball, turn and roam around the area, they don’t get easily tired
and most of the children nowadays are not just active but also hyper. They always like to mess around
because of curiosity so there are some appropriate art activities that teachers make for the preschoolers
to do like building the plastic blocks with different shapes and sizes, hand painting, drawing shapes or
lines, making paper origami, mixing colors and anything that will arise their interest. Well doing these
activities we don’t expect them to do it perfectly because they are just beginners that is why we can see
some lines that has some curves and shapes that are not really in the right form, colors that are outside
the lines . We learned from the previous chapter that children at this age their grip is not that much in
control because the muscle on their hand and fingers are not yet fully develop that is why they use big
pencils and crayons compared to the children in the higher grades. We can also see some children doing
actions following the nursery rhymes, playing different games and always love to be in action; waving
hands, pointing, holding hands, swaying, stretching, bending and dancing. Children thought of playing all
time and it makes them happy and as a parent we have to support our children whatever makes them
happy as long as they are learning (educational), they like what they are doing, they will have self
improvement; physical, mental, social and develop skills and talents, in a proper and safe environment.

2. Examine the skills found in the physical domain of the ELDS. Identify the skills in a particular sub age
group and put an appropriate activity that can help develop the each skill. You may surf the net for
suggested activities, interview preschool teachers or simply be creative yourself!
