OBJECTIVE

• Minimize construction and demolition waste and

transform it into sands that serve to produce materials for
new constructions.
PROCESS

• The construction and demolition waste is classified and

the waste that can be used to produce sand is chosen.
• After classifying the contaminants, they are separated and
a process of rupture and transport passes, when the
rupture process is finished, a process of crushing
fragments passes where the residues are sieved and what
type of aggregate can be seen and finally passes to the
applications that each one has.
PROPERTIES OF RECYCLED SANDS TO EVALUATE THEIR
INFLUENCE ON CONSISTENCY AND RESISTANCE

• The most important properties to evaluate in recycled sands are critical moisture, fine
content, sand equivalent, sulfate content, sulfur compounds, and light particle content.

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE IN COLOMBIA

Resolution 1257 of 2021 established the mechanisms for the effective

management, use and final disposal of construction and demolition
waste, as well as the country's commitments with this waste.

In Colombia there are already goals for the use of construction and
demolition waste for each category with respective dates of 01/01/2023,
01/01/2026 and 01/01/2030, including the special category, categories 1,
2 and 3 and categories 4, 5 and 6
