● The Ashanti region has the highest rate of teenage
pregnancy in Ghana with 17,802 cases in 2020
● The Ahafo region has the lowest rate of teenage
pregnancies in 2020 with 2,625 cases.

● Factors such as parental income and the extent of
a girl’s education also contribute.
● Reduced access to information and contraception
and increased sexual violence.

Solutions
Many things can be done by many peope
to prevent teenage pregnancy from
happening. School counsellors, medical
experts, religious heads and females like
you and I who know about the
downsides of teenage pregnancy can
inform and educate people on the topic
of teenage pregnancy.
Other ways to solve it
● Girls must be able to make their own decisions
about their bodies and futures, understand the
effects of teenage pregnancy, and have access to
appropriate healthcare services and comprehensive
sexuality education.
● Sex education must be taught in schools to inform
males and females about the causes and effects of
teenage pregnancy

• Teenage pregnancy occurs with females
below the age of 18.
• Lack on education on reproductive
health and others are some causes of
teenage pregnancy.
• Stigmatisation and possible death are
some effects.
