HUMAN IMPACTS ON THE

ENVIRONMENT
Ricric M. Cambaya
OVERPOPULATION
 Causinghigh unemployment, more emigration for work, low savings rates,
crowded classrooms, strained social services, and environmental
degradation, the overpopulation is an unnatural disaster.
POLLUTION

 Pollution stunts economic growth,  Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet,

exacerbates poverty and inequality consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do
in both urban and rural areas, and eiusmod tempor incididunt ut
significantly contributes to climate labore et dolore magna ali
change. Poor people, who cannot
afford to protect themselves from
the negative impacts of pollution,
end up suffering the most.
GLOBAL WARMING
an aspect of climate change,
referring to the long-term rise of
the planet's temperatures. It is
caused by increased
concentrations of greenhouse
gases in the atmosphere, mainly
from human activities such as
burning fossil fuels, and farming.
GENETIC MODIFICATION

Human genome editing technologies can be used on somatic cells (non-heritable), germline cells (not for
reproduction) and germline cells (for reproduction). Application of somatic human genome editing has
already been undertaken, including in vivo editing, to address HIV and sickle-cell disease, for example.
1 OCEAN ACIDIFICATION

Ocean acidification reduces the

amount of carbonate, a key
building block in seawater. This
makes it more difficult for
marine organisms, such as 2 LOREM IPSUM DOLOR
coral and some plankton, to
form their shells and skeletons,
and existing shells may begin
to dissolve.
OVERFISHING

Overfishing can deplete key reef

species and damage coral habitat.
Coral reef ecosystems support
important commercial, recreational,
and subsistence fishery resources
in the U.S and its territories.
DEFORESTATION
Deforestation or forest clearance is
the removal of a forest or stand of
trees from land that is then
converted to non-forest use.
Deforestation can involve conversion
of forest land to farms, ranches, or
urban use. The most concentrated
deforestation occurs in tropical
rainforests
ACID RAIN

any form of precipitation with acidic

components, such as sulfuric or nitric
acid that fall to the ground from the
atmosphere in wet or dry forms. This
can include rain, snow, fog, hail or
even dust that is acidic.
OZONE DEPLETAION

Ozone can damage the tissues of the

respiratory tract, causing inflammation and
irritation, and result in symptoms such as
coughing, chest tightness and worsening of
asthma symptoms. In addition, ozone
causes substantial damage to crops,
forests and native plants.
