DIFFERENT KINDS OF COMPUTER

Depending on the size and capacity ,computer are

classified into three types
 Mainframe computer
 Minicomputer
 Microcomputer or Personal Computer
 MAINFRAME COMPUTER
1. Large and powerful computer that are used by many people at the same time ; typically installed in large
organization .
2. Located in a central place and accessed by users via computer terminals or other computer placed at different
locations and connected to the mainframe computer .

3. Extremely powerful mainframe computer used in scientific and engineering application
 MAINFRAME
In the early days of computing ,mainframes were huge computers that could fill an entire room or even a whole floor! As
the size of computer has diminished while the power has increased , the term mainframe has fallen out of use in favor
of enterprise server . You’ll still here the term used , particularly in large companies to descried the huge machines
processing millions of transaction every day
 SUPERCOMPUTER
This type of computer usually costs hundreds of thousand or even millions of dollars . Although some supercomputer are
single computer system , most are comprised of multiple high performance computer working in parallel as a single system .
