21st Century-The 21st century refers to the current
century, which started on January 1, 2001, and will
end on December 31, 2100. It is characterized by
significant technological advancements,
globalization, and socio-political changes, among
other developments.
The Industrial Age, also known as the Industrial
Revolution, refers to a period in history that started
in the late 18th century and lasted until the mid-19th
century. The Industrial Age marked a shift from
manual labor to machine-based production, which
led to increased productivity and economic growth
The Information age, The Information Age, also known as the Digital
Age, refers to the period in history that began in the late 20th century
and continues to the present day. This era is characterized by the
widespread use of digital technologies and the internet to store,
process, and transmit information.

1. Internet-The Internet is a global network of computers and servers that are

connected together to allow the exchange of information and
communication between individuals and organizations around the world.

2. Social Media-Collection of Internet-based technologies that allow users to

share information and interact with one another in online communities.

3. Mobile computing-technology that allows sending, receiving, and

processing of information wherever the users may be.

4. Cloud Computing-Concept based on the Cloud. A cloud is a network of

servers that work together to provide Internet-based services that the users
require.

1. Global Warming-biggest environmental issue in modern

times where sea levels are rising and the earth’s surface is
getting hot.
2. Excessive population growth-Increase in human population
will result in a bigger demand for resources which can
cause numerous problems.
3. Water shortages-most important resources of all, shortage
of water can mean chaos.

deserts or desertification threatens to wipe out farmlands
which can cripple food supply of nations

over a wide geographic area, typically affecting a large
proportion of the population.

people away from their homelands and into developed

10. Non-state actors with extreme weapons- Non-state actors

refer to individuals or groups who operate outside the control
of a government and can include terrorist organizations,
criminal syndicates, and other violent extremist groups. When
such groups obtain extreme weapons, it poses a significant
threat to national and international security.

11. Extreme poverty -refers to a severe form of poverty where

individuals or families are unable to meet their basic needs for
survival, including access to food, water, shelter, healthcare, and
education.
12. Violent religious extremism-are individuals or groups who use
religion to justify and carry out violent actions against others. They
may use religious beliefs, interpretations, or teachings to justify their
violent actions, which can include terrorist attacks, suicide
bombings, and other forms of violence against civilians,
governments, or other religious groups.

 13. Runaway computer intelligence-refers to a hypothetical
scenario in which a computer system gains the ability to improve its
own intelligence and, in doing so, rapidly surpasses human
intelligence to an extent that it becomes uncontrollable and poses a
threat to human existence. This scenario is often referred to as the
"intelligence explosion" or "singularity".

14. War that could end civilization-The concept of a war that
could end civilization is often associated with the use of
nuclear weapons. The detonation of even a small number of
nuclear weapons could cause widespread devastation and
have long-lasting effects on the environment and human
health.
15. Risk to Homo Sapiens’ Existence-The risk of Homo
sapiens extinction refers to the possibility that the human
species could be wiped out entirely, with no surviving
individuals left.
16. A new dark age-other than extinction, these mega
problems may lead to the collapse of civilization.
