Abstract
This report is the documentation of my work in the B.Tech. Project - User Experience
Design Internship at Onsitego (till 16 March 2022). This report contains overview of 3
different projects I worked on. First project as a co-owner is ”City level Website” overview
of the project was to re-design the Website for the adding new feature to enable location
based website. - Onsitego.com. The USP of a website is its accessibility as it can be accessed
through any digital screen which supports browser (Desktop/Mobile/Tablet etc.). Various
things including Style Guide, Design System, Efficiency and Developer Hand-off Ease were
also considered during this project. The result came out to be www.onsitego.com (under
development) which is the official domain, used for hosting the website. Second project as
single owner is ”Feed Content Section” for Onsitego - consumer app. This app will be the
identically similar of website by function, User can buy new plans/service and track its
online service. Feed section going to be released in it’s version. This section will help the
company to attain the user on daily basis. By this section we want to increase the
engagement with this app. This Project include User Research, User analysis, Prototyping,
UI designing, Testing. This will come out in Onsitego consumer app in next version release
(under prototyping phase). Third Project as single owner is ”LivTrack app Re-design”.
Livtrack is a onsitego internal user app, which is currently used by more than 5000+
onsitego Technicians. This app include User research, user analysis, prototyping , UI
designing, Testing. This app will be redesign to accommodate new feature as well as to
improve User experience. This app is under User research and tentative date to complete
this project is May 2022.

Chapter 1

Introduction

The projects assigned to me was the designing Onsitego website, Feed content section -
Onsitego consumer app, Livtrack Redesign . My role was to analyze the requirements,
Conduct User reaserch, understand the working of a curret website and app’s, designing the
screens based on the research and do the Testing for the developed application. The design
system used for this project is made by onsitego which is under work. The developed designs
are being hosted on (www.onsitego.com) and other apps on google playstore (under
development).

Research

I conducted research on the pre-existing app website, which included Instagram, Reddit,
Dribbble and Behance to understand the layout and design concepts which these platforms
have used. I also studied different design system to understand the working of design system
like Material Design System (Google) and Carbon Design System (IBM) to understand the
approach for the User Interface designing and how the components interact with each other
in a scalable environment such as website app’s. I validated my research by exploiting some
applications which uses minimal design approach (in terms of UI) such as WhatsApp and
Medium. For ”City level website” research is already done by my predecessor and my other
teammate. I worked mostly on solution and design. For ”Content feed section” research I
gone through design process start to end. I conduct secondary research primary research.
Secondary research include field study as well as competitive analysis where as primary
research include Survey’s and Interview’s. For ” LivTrack redesign” research I gone through
the design research. For research I gone through the pre-existing flow’s and working of
current app and after that I have done field research in our Delhi office to know the pain
points and expectation of the user by doing interviews. This project is in User research
phase.

Chapter 3

Project Work

3.0.1 City Level website

1. Low-Fidelity designs: I started off by designing the low-fidelity designs for the web-app
(desktop resolution). Low-fidelity designs needed to be finalized before moving on to
the high-fidelity screens. The changes were done in these based on the feedback cycle
from the stakeholder’s and business team.

2. High-Fidelity designs: Final pixel-perfect designs were made after the approval of low-
fidelity screens which can hand-off to the developers. The high fidelity screens were
transferred to the developers in accordance with all the design components. Developer
and other stakeholders are briefed and holdover for development.

3. User Testing: Will be done after development.

3.0.2 Feed Content section

1. Product Understanding: I started off with understanding the product requirement, cre-
ating a problem statement and goal to start the work on this process.

2. User Research: Research is done in 2 steps. First is Secondary research, in which we


have done Field research about the content consumption and after that we started Com-
petitive analysis to under stand the market flow and Competitors strategy. Secondly we
done Primary research, in which is conduct a survey to understand the user preferences

and user pain points and after that we conducted Interview’s to validate the inputs we
get through survey.

3. Analysis: We created User personas, to differentiate the user to mainly large different
personas and gather the pain points and user expectation. In user journey , we created
different task to attain by user to complete the goals. with that task we created the user
journey from starting to the end.

4. Low-Fidelity designs: low-fidelity designs for the section (mobile app resolution). Low-
fidelity wire-frames are designed for getting the rough idea of how the app should work
and look alike . Those idea’s and solution are discussed with stakeholders and other
teammate.

3.0.3 Livtrack app redesign

1. Product Understanding: I started the work by understanding the different flow and
background operation, setting problem statements and goals.

2. User Research: Research is done on the Existing app, I started finding the User expe-
rience problems, User Interface problems, User pain points, working flaws. After that I
started by field study in Onsitego Delhi office, where I conducted different interview’s
with our different user persons. This interview contains behaviour analysis, User pain-
points, User expectation, User suggestions,as well as customer feedback.

Chapter 5

Summary

During this project, I got to learn about design concepts that were unknown to me before. I
understood how the technologies such as Figma works for designing complex and scalable
architecture. The teamwork and mentor-ship helped me in understanding the market
requirements, how it functions on a large scale, industry works and career opportunities .
The next target is to design the V2 of the whole website to make it more relevant for the
new needs of the market and compelete the existing projects.
