THIRD CONDITIONAL
Third Conditional
● To talk about how things might have been different in the past
● To talk about impossible conditions (because the past cannot be changed)
● It is formed with if + past perfect + would (not) have + past participle
Examples:
o If I’d been careful, I wouldn’t have dropped the camera.
(I wasn’t careful, so I dropped the camera)
o If you hadn’t woken me up, I would have slept for hours.
(You woke me up so I didn’t sleep for hours)
