CONDITIONALS: WHAT ARE THEY?
IF… (IF CLAUSE)

● In English, there are 4 conditionals: I … (MAIN CLAUSE)


Zero, First, Second, and Third.

● Purpose: conditionals are used to


express that a particular situation may
occur if another particular thing
happens first.

● In terms of grammar, a conditional is a


sentence divided in two clauses (mini
sentence)

● In each type of conditional we use the


word “IF” (si condicional)

I wouldn’t date that man if I were you - She would like him if he were taller.
