• A row is a group of
cells that run from left
to right
• Identified by numbers

• A column is a group
of cells that run from
top to bottom
• Identified by letters

of your spreadsheet.
Helpful for manually
dividing a spreadsheet
into different pages.
Workbooks and Worksheets

Excel files are called


workbooks.

Each file contains one or


more spreadsheets,
called worksheets.
