Preparation:
Before the lesson:

1. Set up the slides on the projector.


2. Divide the whiteboard in 4 sections (see diagram). Write the respective questions
on the respective boxes (see subsequent slides)
3. Set up the 3 stations at the following locations, with station labels:
• Station 1: Market (Left side of classroom)
• Station 2: Community Centre (Back of classroom)
• Station 3: Home (Front of classroom, whiteboard)

Preparation:
At the start of the lesson:

1. Ensure your cadets sit down in a U-shape/semi-circle position.


2. Check that your cadets have their writing materials with them.
3. Ensure that all of them can hear you.
4. Ensure that all of them can see the screen.
IMPORTANT!
Pointers before the start of the lesson…
• If you do not have mahjong paper, you can consider dividing the
whiteboard into 5 parts

• If you do not have a whiteboard, you can consider using 3 mahjong


paper and dividing 2 mahjong paper into 2 parts each. This way, you
have 5 parts for cadets to write on.

• If you do not have tokens for the game, can consider cutting green,
red, yellow paper into small rectangles/squares OR using something
to represent money, happiness and health

• if you cannot print slide 106-109, consider just labelling the room with
paper with the words written, or you can do the activity sitting down
works as well

When you have made your decision, proceed to the trainer stationed at the location to
execute your decision
.

Through your decisions, you will either gain or lose resources.

If your Happiness or Health hit 0 at the end of the day, you “die”.

You can survive with no money.

Just like in real life.

Key things to note:

1. You cannot have negative resources. Don’t buy things you can’t afford.

2. If your Happiness or Health are at 0 and would be deducted, it remains at 0.

3. If in the middle of the day, your Happiness or Health are at 0, continue playing.

You only die if your Happiness or Health are at 0 at the end of the
day.

You will be given 1 min to discuss


with your partners to make an
informed choice

DO NOT talk to other pairs

as back pains or diabetes.

- If health is neglected, these illnesses will


cause a lot of pain and trouble for the
elderly.
