TRIBE COFAN

1. ¿WHERE DO THEY LIVE?

 The Kofán are distributed in the communities located in the municipalities of Valle del
Guamuez, Orito and San Miguel, in the department of Putumayo. In some of these areas, they
share their territories with the native NASA ethnic groups, Katío and Awa.
2. ¿WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE THERE?

 The climate that tends to be more predominant where this tribe lives is mostly humid like that
of the jungles.
3. ¿WHAT DO THEY EAT?
FOOD, CUSTOMES, HUNTING.
 The diet in the Cofán tribe is based on cultivation in orchards, where different products are
planted, they practice the association of crops in an autochthonous way. It is common to see
spaces planted with plantains, bananas, or beans and corn, different trees whose fruits are
consumed and exchanged in the communities, such as avocados.
