Is eating in public considered as

Is staring at people impolite?
Staring at people is impolite.
Is not shaking hands impolite?
Not shaking hands could be impolite.
A verb in -ING can act as a noun, so, it
can also be the subject of a sentence.
 -ING as subject

● Showing affection in public is considered bad

manners.
● Not* bowing can be impolite in Korea

*The negative goes before the verb in ING

Can you offend people by pointing at them?
You can offend people by pointing at them.
 -ING after PREPOSITIONS

● You can offend people by pointing at them

● People might judge you for not* tipping the
waiter in Mexico.

Is it impolite to arrive late to a meeting?
It's impolite to arrive late to a meeting.
 It´s + ADJECTIVE + to + verb

● It's acceptable not to tip cab drivers. (it's

optional)
● It's not acceptable to tip cab drivers. (You
shouldn't do it)

*The position of the negative could change the meaning in the sentence.
