Respiration
Exchange of gases
occur through the
Amoeba sp. plasma membrane by
simple diffusion.
Oxygen

Passive transport
Does not require ATP (Adenosine
Triphosphate)
Carbon dioxide
RESPONDING TO STIMULI

Amoeba sp. and Paramecium sp. will respond to

stimuli.
Respond to chemical, touch or bright light.
They will move away from the stimuli.
Reproduction during unfavourable environments
• When the environmental
conditions are not suitable
e.g.
 dry conditions
 low temperature
 food shortage
Amoeba sp. forms spores that will
only germinate when the
environment improves
Reproduction for Paramecium Sp.
Reproduction for Paramecium Sp. is by
Examples of Paramecium
conjugation
Sp.  Meaning of counjugation is the process by
which one bacterium transfers genetic material
to another through direct contact.
 During conjugation, one bacterium serves as
the donor of the genetic material, and the
other serves as the recipient.
 Conjugation occurs when environmental
conditions are not suitable
