Introduction

• The TIBIC is located at Kampala Industrial & Business Park,


Namanve - Mukono District

• Its designed to act as a platform for technology development and


manufacturing support via the Process Industry Learning Model

• It includes provision of common user facilities for contract R&D,


production, upskilling; shared workspaces for scientists and innovators
and business development support services

Objectives

• To provide a supportive environment for startups to grow and thrive.

• To provide training and education programs to enhance the skills and


knowledge of entrepreneurs

• To provide a strong R&D, design platform and technical advisory


services in its focus sectors.

• Support governments efforts in import substitution and export


expansion.

The different gateways for joining the TIBIC as an Incubatee


Facilities and Support Services

o Infrastructure - Shared workspace and associated services.

o Equipment Access - shared production workshop for Finished Leather Products Design,
Textile, Fashion and Design, ICT and Multimedia and local electronics manufacturing.

o Pre-Launch Training – Mandatory Short term entrepreneurship development training.

o Technical Training - specialized short training programs for enterprise development and
improvement in the 4 areas of focus.

o Mentorship and Coaching – this will involve both the business and technical
mentorships. Also one-on-one mandatory monthly progress meetings will be held between
the TIBIC technical staff and the incubatees
Facilities and Support Services

o Access to Funding - To support the scaling and development of start-up business such as seed
money, loans, and grants.

o Marketing Assistance and Business Facilitation - Market Research and techno-economic


analysis.

o Networking - Business to Business (B2B) events to introduce technologies and investment


opportunities.

o Virtual Incubation - entrepreneurship and business development for offsite and rural entities.

o Consultancy Services – in relation to the areas of focus.


Facilities and Support Services

o Research and Development - contract research and development services in the areas of focus.

o Internships and Apprenticeships - to both University and TVET students.

o Post incubation support - follow up the incubatees.


Construction Machinery Maintenance Workshop

The workshop is designed for two main purposes:

i. Offer competitive and reliable heavy construction


machinery repair maintenance services

ii. Manpower Training in repair and maintenance of


heavy construction machinery

The workshop is to run as a ‘teaching hospital’
