CONSOLIDATED NUMERACY ASSESSMENT RESULT FOR GRADES 1-3
(SY 2021-2022)

Interpretation: It can be gleaned from the table above that the conducted SDO I Pangasinan's Numeracy Assessment for Grade 1 Pupils, SY 2021-2022
participated by 23,768 wherein 12,384 were male and 11,384 were female. The table also shows that based on the pretest result, 1,967 male learners (16.11%)
and 1,406 female learners (13.44%) are considered non-numerate from the total population. However, based on the post-test result --- the data for non-
numerate grade 1 pupils was significantly reduced to 474 (3.41%) males and 248 (2.01%) females.

Interpretation: It can be seen from the table above that the conducted SDO I Pangasinan's Numeracy Assessment for Grade 2 Pupils, SY 2021-2022
participated by 20,508 wherein 10,938 were males and 9,570 were females. The table also shows that based on the pretest result, 2,215 male learners (20.27%)
and 1,543 female learners (15.90%) are considered non-numerate from the total population. However, based on the post-test result --- the data for non-
numerate grade 2 pupils was significantly reduced to 581 (4.95%) males and 299 (2.86%) females.

Analysis:
Based on the result of the numeracy assessment conducted to all participating
elementary schools from the thirty-two (32) Districts in the Schools Division Office I
Pangasinan, the significant decrease in the number of Grades 1, 2, and 3 non-numerate
learners can be attributed to the restructured numeracy interventions such as Pangasinan I
initiated Online MTAP-DepEd Saturday Program, intensified home visitation program, and
strong partnership and cooperation of parents and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of
quality, accessible, relevant and liberating basic education despite pandemic.

Recommendations:
School heads and teachers should look into considerations the factors that affect the
numeracy performance of the learners. Schools should also plan and create a design of
timely and relevant numeracy interventions and programs that will address the needs
according to the individual differences in learning to eventually flatten the number of non-
numerate.
