What is a “Near Miss”?
A situation or behavior
where injury or property
damage could have
occurred, but it did not.
“Near Miss” situations include:
Where a safety system fails to perform
as it should, (e.g. a fire pump
malfunctioned).
And “Near Miss” also is
Where environmental damage
could result (but did not – yet!).

electronically.
Reporting a near miss will
help change unsafe
situations or unsafe behavior
to keep the workplace
accident free.
Remember
All 'Near Misses' are Accidents waiting to
happen, they could happen to you or one of your
co-workers!
