DEFINITION OF
TERMS
BMI – BODY MASS INDEX
• BODY MASS INDEX – it is a test that determines
your body’s classification.
• Weight- this refers to the heaviness and the
lightness of a person.
• Height- the distance between the feet on the floor to
the top of the head in standing position.

ACTIVITY 1: LET US PRACTICE
Direction: Compute the BMI of this student and
identify its classification/category. (2 mins.)
•Ana is a volleyball player. In order for
her to play in Unit Meet Tournament,
the coach ask her to compute on her
own BMI. What is her BMI if she weighs
45kg and her height is 1.56.? Identify
also what classification/category she
belongs.
ACTIVITY 2
Get your height and weight. Compute
your own BMI and identify what
classification/category you belong.
Afterwards, I will call someone to
