Kudryavtseva Mentality is an attitude and worldview determined by national customs, ethical, aesthetic and religious principles, lifestyle, etc. 1. The relevance of words or actions. The British student are sensitive to how their words and actions affect those around them. They know how to put themselves in the place of another person and imagine his reaction. Their behavior is to take care of others. Here you can see both humanity and lack of selfishness and restraint.
As for the Ukrainian student in this regard,
unfortunately sometimes we do not control our emotionality and sometimes it is very difficult for us to first of all think about those around us, and this requires serious self-discipline. 2. Personal space
The personal space of the British is sacred. They hug
and kiss only the closest people. In all other cases, an exchange of greetings and a handshake is sufficient. The British can be very surprised when they see in Ukraine that a man or woman can hug or even kiss a friend or acquaintance. 3. The concept of the family. In Britain, family and children are synonymous. If a person has a husband, wife, parents, brothers, sisters, and other relatives, but no children, this equates to the fact that he has no family.
As for Ukrainians, they put the family in the first
place and first of all take care of children, right up to the age of majority, and sometimes even after it. There can be a family in Ukraine even if it consists only of parents or just a married couple who have no children. 4. Sense of humour The British are not only famous for their specific sense of humour, but also openly recognize it as one of their main virtues. The ability to laugh and ridicule arises in them in early childhood. A rare foreigner will understand English humor, but he can easily get offended.
Ukrainian humour can be subtle, like the British, rude,
like the Germans, self-ironic, like the Israelis, a little bit evil, like the French. It is diverse. Ukrainian humor is distinguished by its originality and flavor 5. Planning Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today!
We don't think that the young British students can
understand this principle. Their approach: why do today what can be postponed until tomorrow. There is simply nowhere without planning. For planning in the family, there must be a special calendar in which all events are entered for the year ahead.
This is not the case for Ukrainian. We are used to doing
everything when we see fit. Of course, some people may have planning in their discipline, but this already depends on the person. 6.Belief in omens The British are superstitious in their own way, and you won't surprise them with an old haunted house. However, they do not believe in the evil eye and all sorts of witchcraft rituals. It is even difficult for some to convey the essence of these phenomena.
In our modern world, almost a third of Ukrainians
believe in the supernatural. According to research, 28% of the surveyed citizens consider themselves superstitious.
Also, Ukrainians tend to believe in various signs,
astrological forecasts. So we can say that Ukrainians are quite superstitious. Interesting fact 1.
