INTRODUCTION
• The hydraulic cylinder control system is an essential component of hydraulic systems, it’s
widely used in industrial applications, such as construction equipment, mining machinery,
and aerospace systems.
• The system consists of a hydraulic cylinder, a pump, a valve, and a controller, which work
together to control the motion and force of the cylinder.
• The controller receives a signal from a sensor that measures the pressure in the cylinder and
generates a control signal to the valve, which regulates the flow of hydraulic fluid to the
cylinder.
• The system's performance depends on the quality of the controller and the accuracy of the
pressure sensor.
INTRODUCTION
• The transfer function of the system relates the input (valve opening) to the
output (pressure in the cylinder) in the frequency domain and can be used to
design and analyze the performance of controllers for the system.
• The hydraulic cylinder control system is critical in ensuring the efficiency and
safety of hydraulic systems and has significant implications for industrial
productivity and worker safety.
INTRODUCTION
System component
• Plant: The hydraulic system consists of a pump, valve, cylinder and pressure
sensor
• Input: The opening of the Valve which is controlled by actuator
• Output: The Pressure in cylinder, that measured by sensor
• Actuator: Valve that controls the flow of hydraulic fluid to the cylinder
• Sensor: that measure the Pressure in cylinder
• Controller: device that receive the output signal and generate a control signal to
actuator based on desired setpoint.
