CLIMATE
-INTRODUCTION-

• Climate is the long-term pattern of weather in a


particular area. It is measured by assessing the
patterns of variation in temperature, humidity,
atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation etc.
-CLIMATE IN INDIA-

• India is home to an extraordinary variety of climatic


regions, ranging from tropical in the south to
temperate and alpine in the Himalayan north, where
elevated regions. receive sustained winter snowfall.
The nation's climate is strongly influenced by the
Himalayas and the Thar Desert.
-COLD AND DRY CLIMATE-
• Regions that lie in the cold climate zone are situated at high altitudes.
The temperatures range between 20-30 Degree C in summers, while
in winters,it can range from -3 to 8 Degree C,making it quite chilly.
-LADAKH-
• Ladakh is a region of India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir,
inhabited by people of Indo- Aryan and Tibetan descent. It is one of
the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its
culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet.
-CLIMATE OF LADAKH-
• Ladakh's climate is a little extreme--the summers can get a little harsh
with direct sunlight falling at such high altitude and winters can be
really cold with temperatures dropping below freezing point.
