PROBLEM STATEMENT
 Vision of multiple channels on a single display so that
different users can view different video streams on the
same screen at the same time.
 Independent Entertainment Facility
 Contents Authorization
 Security Issues

3
PROPOSED SOLUTION
 Normal screen is employed to display two different video streams
using interlacing concept.
 Users specific selection of video streams.
 Active 3D glasses are used to view interlaced videos.

HARDWARE…
OV7670 CAMERA MODULE
 OV7670 is a low voltage CMOS image sensor that provides
the full functionality of a single chip VGA camera and
image processor in a small footprint package.
 It provides full-frame or windowed 8-bit images in a wide
range of formats, controlled through the SCCB(Serial
Camera Control Bus).
 It has an image array capable of operating at up to 30fps.
 Output format used is RGB565.

ACTIVE 3D GLASSES
 Active 3D uses battery operated shutter glasses. When voltage is
applied to the lens, it turns almost completely opaque; without they
are completely clear
 To produce a 3D picture, the TV displays the image for the left eye,
then the image for the right eye. While it does this, the glasses shut
out the light to the opposite eye. This happens 24, 25 or 30 times per
second for each eye, so it is nearly impossible to detect it‘s
happening

15
HARDWARE…
GLASSES SYNCRONIZATION
 Short both lens of 3D glasses.
 As FPGA kit gives output of 3.3V but glasses operate at
voltage of 10V.

DEVICE UTILIZATION SUMMARY

21
LIMITATIONS
 The image array of OV7670 camera module is capable of
operating at up to 30fps only and can give resolution of
only 0.3Mpixel.
 Output VGA of AX309 is 16-bits.
 Advanced FPGA kits with higher resolution are costly.

22
FUTURE
RECOMMENDATIONS
 To have improved quality use camera module OV5640
which has resolution of 500Mpixel.
 Use advanced FPGA kits like Digilent genesys virtex 5
Lx50t which has HDMI video with resolution up to
1600x1200 and 24-bit color.
 Virtex 5 LX50T FPGA has 256Mbyte DDR2.
