WARM-UP
Warm-Up
INDICATIONS:
-Divide the class into two teams.
-Select one classmate per group.
-This student will sit with his/her back to the board, facing his/her classmates.
-The teacher will write a past statement on the board using either the past simple or
past continuous (Or both).
-Your group members have to mime for the classmate sitting in front of them.
-Students must then describe that sentence to the student in the hot seat without
words. (mime)
-On each turn, one student will sit with their back to the board, facing their
teammates.
-The round is over when the student in the hot seat says the sentence or when time
runs out.

The past simple describes actions that

-Select a leader.
-The leader will select a card from the box.
-As a group will have to create 2 sentences using THE PAST
SIMPLE and PAST CONTINUOUS: One sentence using
WHEN and one sentence using WHILE.
-Discuss in groups how the sentences would be.
-The leader has to write the 2 sentences on the board.
EXAMPLE:

He was watching TV when the phone rang.


While he was watching TV, the phone rang.

SPEAKING OF THE PAST

INDICATIONS:
-Work in groups of three.
-Discuss about "what did you do on weekend?" using simple past
and continuous with past time clauses "when and while". (5 MIN)
For example: On my weekend I was walking in the park when I saw the boy. I decided
to say hello to him because he is my friend. We chatted while he was flying his kite.
WRITING: THE PAST
INDICATIONS:
-Check the whatsapp group.

-Click on the link.
-Create in your own words a story about “What I did on my
summer vacation?” (Padlet)
-Using the past simple and past continuous.

INDICATIONS:
-Work in groups of four.
-Teacher going to give some sentences in disorder to the
students.
-Students are going to order the sentences in the correct
order.
-The group complete the sentences in the correct order will
be the winner. (10 MIN)
