Information is stimuli that has meaning in some context for its receiver. When
information is entered into and stored in a computer, it is generally referred to
as data. After processing -- such as formatting and printing -- output data can
again be perceived as information. When information is compiled or used to
better understand something or to do something, it becomes knowledge

INTRODUCTION OF INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY
Information technology is anything related to computing
technology, such as networking, hardware, software, the
Internet, or the people that work with these technologies.
EVOLUTION OF INTERNET

Internet is one component which has recently become the key ingredient of quick and rapid lifestyle. Be
it for communication or explorations, connecting with people or for official purposes, 'internet' has
become the central-hub for all.

In 1973, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) began research on protocols to
allow computers to communicate over a distributed network. This work paralleled work done by the
RAND Corporation, particularly in the realm of a web-based network model of communication. Instead
of using electronic signals to send an unending stream of ones and zeros over a line (the equivalent of a
direct voice connection), DARPA used this new packet-switching technology to send small bundles of
data. This way, a message that would have been an unbroken stream of binary data—extremely
vulnerable to errors and corruption—could be packaged as only a few hundred numbers.
ORIGINS OF THE INTERNET
The Internet started as an experiment in the late 1960s by the
Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), now called Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
 DARPA experimented with the connection of computer networks by
giving grants to multiple universities and private companies to get
them involved in the research.
NSF - NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION

1980 - Started to make high capacity network for Academic & Engineering
Research.
NSF connected its huge network of five supercomputer centers, called NSFnet
to Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) in 1986.
1990 - Interworking of ARPANET, NSFnet & other Private Network resulted
into INTERNET.
Wireless network (Wi-Fi) launch in 1997.
Over the year Internet for Mobile phones is Changed GPRS - 2G - 3G
- 4G - 5G.
