Introduction
According to the study of (Ruut Veenhoven,2012), Happiness can be defined as the subjective enjoyment of life
as a whole. Empirical studies on happiness show considerable differences; both differences in average
happiness across countries and differences between citizens within countries. At its present stage, our
understanding of happiness already shows that greater happiness for a greater number is possible in principle,
and indicates some ways for achieving that goal.

There are many ways to use the word "happiness." In the broadest sense, it means everything that is good. In
this sense, it is often used the same way as “well-being" or "quality of life," and it refers to both the welfare of
the person and the welfare of the group.

What makes them Happy? Men who have high levels of job satisfaction have the highest reported levels of
happiness, regardless of their financial status. (Dr. John Barry, 2018) while, Women derive more happiness and
satisfaction with life from personally fulfilling or meaningful experiences than men. (J. Joško Brakus, Weifeng
Chen, Bernd Schmitt, Lia Zarantonello2022)

This study wants to find out if there is a significant difference in Happiness State between 45 males and
females of some students of St. Dominic College of Asia SY. 2023
Validation of Instrument
Once our group has gathered enough data, we entered it through an application called "IBM SPSS
Statistics Data Editor", which calculates the enough gathered data from the 45 respondents we
validated their answers from the given questions.
Data Gathering Procedure
We gathered the data using survey questionnaires through Google Forms. The test utilizes the Likert
Scale with 1 (Strongly Disagree) as our lowest score and 5 (Strongly Agree) being our highest score.
The data then gets recorded in a Google Sheet dedicated to the survey.
Results 1- Mean Score for Male per statement

Based on the table the 12 question got the highest score from
the male statement. It means most of the male respondents
agreed that they laugh a lot when they are with their Friends.
While statement number 16 got the lowest score and it is I am
satisfied with my life.
Results 2- Mean Score for Female per statement

The table shows that statement number 2 Practicing help

care is a must in order for us to be healthy and fulfilled
earned the highest score means most of the female
respondents strongly agree with that statement.
Statement number 24, I face problems ahead earned the
lowest number of disagreements.
Results 3 Test for Significant Difference
Analysis
• The statement analysis reveals that some female respondents are uncertain if they are happy not
not -------
• The mean scores of both male and female based on the T-test results differ only by 4.049206349
points with males earning the highest mean score which indicates that both male and female are
almost equal in terms of happiness level.
Discussion
There is a difference between the results of mean for males and females based on all of the data
from the happiness survey that asks for the response of the respondents regarding the statements.
Having a mean happiness value that is greater for males than for females. Furthermore, it indicates
that there is a considerable difference between the happiness scales of males and females given that
the T-Critical value is larger than the T-statistics.
Conclusion
According to the substantial results, the researchers found that the happiness between males and
females significantly differed. Where they are both reported as very happy. However, the male
respondents attained higher happiness compared to the females
Recommendations
Based on the results of the study, the researchers have drawn sufficient recommendations:
It is recommended for future researchers that they conduct further studies regarding the
factors affecting the level of happiness of an individual. The predictors of happiness
between genders must be investigated. As mental health is related to happiness, it is
suggested to explore the mental health between genders with regard to their level of
satisfaction. This will aim to find the relationship between happiness and the mental health
of both males and females. It is recommended that future studies will focus on the
happiness of men by age group or generation. As the generation gap has been an issue
nowadays, it is suggested to focus on the aforementioned area of study. To find the
relationship between the happiness of men in terms of generational differences.
