GENEROSITY

A few days later, when Jesus again entered

Capernaum, the people heard that he had come
home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that
there was no room left, not even outside the door,
and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men
came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by
four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to
Jesus because of the crowd, they made an
opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through
it and then lowered the mat the man was lying
on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the
paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

In your relationships with one another, have the same
mindset as Christ Jesus:
6
Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be
used to his own advantage;
7
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Philippians 2:5-8

For when I preach the gospel, I cannot
boast, since I am compelled to
preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the
gospel! 17 If I preach voluntarily, I have a
reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply
discharging the trust committed to me.
