Define Maps

• “A map is a drawing of an area of the earth


that shows the location of selected features

Map Classifications

• Thematic: Shows information on a specific topic or theme


across a geographic location ranging from regions to
continents.

• Reference: Shows the location of multiple geographic features


of a place on the same map. It gives basic information on
features that don’t change much over time.
