Festival Dances
Festival dances are cultural dances performed to
the strong beats of percussion instruments by a
community of people sharing the same culture
usually done in honor of a Patron Saint or
thanksgiving of a bountiful harvest.
2 Kinds of Festival Dances
1. Religious Festival Dances – done in honor of
Patron Saint.
2. Secular Festival Dances – in thanksgiving or
celebration of people’s industry and bountiful
harvest.
