Festival Dances
Festival dances are cultural dances performed by a group of people who share
the same faith to the intense beats of percussion instruments, typically in honor of
a Patron Saint or in thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. It may be religious or
secular.
Cebu's Sinulog, Iloilo's Dinagyang, Kalibo's Ati-atihan, Leyte's Buyogan and
Lingayen, Dagupan's Bangus, South Cotabato's T'nalak, Bacolod's Masskara,
Isabela's Bambanti, and Davao's Kadayawan are only a few of the country's well-
known festivals. Festivals are essentially modes of entertainment that attract both
international and domestic visitors to a location. As an outcome, the Filipino people's
quality of life will improve.
Religious Festivals
Religious festivals are celebrated in honor of a certain religious icon usually
on the feast day of its patron saint.

Locomotor Movements
These are movements that allow you to move from one point in space to
another. It is canned from two words, "locos" which means place, and "motor" which
means movement.
Non-Locomotor Movements
These are movements that are performed at one point in space without
transferring to another point.

Activity 3: PERFORMANCE TASK
Directions:
1. Choose from the religious festival dances you have previously learned.
2. Practice and executes the skills involved in the dance you choose.
3. Your performance should last at least three (3) to five (5) minutes.
4. Send your performance video to your P.E. teacher via Google Mail or FB
Messenger.
5. Be guided with the criteria below.
