purpose of encoding german enemies communications

The collective main objective was to find a way to decode Enigma, the
principal machine used by nazist army

Turing became one of the most useful members of the group

businessmen who wanted their messages to be safer to send.

Then the advanced encryption machine was used by the germans to encode messages
containing war confidential information that had to be sent among the army

Everything was coded with Enigma, even the weather forecast

Enigma’s working was based on a rotor that had a specific setting meant to scramble
messages.

With a setting that changed everyday nazists managed to keep their communications
hidden from the Allies

There were 105,456 different ways that the scrambler can be set up.

Project ULTRA managed to defeat Enigma’s encryption, making it useless
